DESCRIPTION:\nJoin BCEPC to kick off the 2024-2025 Program year with return Speaker, Ryo Tashiro of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as he discusses:\n \n \n \nNational and Regional Economic Outlook\n \nTopics discussed will include, but not limited to:\n \n- General economic conditions and outlook\n \n- Labor market conditions\n \n- Inflation, housing market, and implications for monetary policy\n \nLearning Objectives: After the session, the attendees will be able to identify and understand the current trends in the economy. They will also be able to discuss the most recent economic data in the context of monetary policy.\n ------\n\nAs an outreach economist and advisor, Ryo Tashiro travels across the Third District, speaking to various groups about the economic outlook and the functions of the Federal Reserve. He tries to avoid using economic jargon so that those without economic backgrounds can participate in the conversations.\n \nRyo views these interactions with the public as two-way streets. Not only does he see the importance of informing the public about what is going on with the economy and at the Fed, Ryo also thinks it is important to hear what individuals across the District are experiencing in the economy.\n \nPrior to joining the Bank in June 2016, Ryo was a business analyst for Bloomberg, where he conducted research on issues related to equity data quality.
